I have been creating custom signs for over 25 years.
I grew up in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York and entered into the family tradition of wood crafting arts and sign making at an early age. After a decade of work and growth in my father's business, The Ferguson Hollow Wood Works, I graduated college and pursed a career in the Scenic Arts for several years. Throughout all these episodes, I always made custom signs for all kinds of businesses.
I established Jim Thorpe Signs in 1990 and have since created a reputation for beautiful and durable carved signs highlighted with genuine gold. I produce dimensional signs in a variety of classic and original styles. My expertise makes me confident that we can produce an excellent result for your enterprise.
Meet Our Staff
Jim Thorpe Signs is owned and operated by Jim Thorpe, a professional sign carver and designer. Jim has been creating exquisitely carved signs for businesses, individuals, and sign shops since his youth, working in his father's shop along with his brother. Thorpe earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in wood design in 1984 from the New York State University at New Paltz. His career includes a history of creating sculpture and fine furniture and he has worked extensively in the scenic arts making sets, sculpture, and props for opera houses, regional theaters, and Broadway productions.
Jim Thorpe Signs also includes the creative talents of Bill Clune, Bill Thorpe, Glenn Herbert and our office manager, Laura Krauss, CPA. Our team also has access to a much larger community of artists and graphics professionals. Our ongoing development of alliances in the sign industry helps us offer you the best service and product for your unique situation.
